It is an important chemical raw material, mainly used as an intermediate of pesticide, dye, medicine, plastic and synthetic fiber auxiliaries. Such as herbicide chloromyron, etc., can also manufacture p-toluidine, p-nitrobenzoic acid, p-nitrotoluene sulfonic acid, 2-chloro-4-nitrotoluene, 2-nitro-4-methylaniline, dinitrotoluene and so on.
The preparation method is to add toluene to the nitrification reactor, cool it to below 25℃, add the mixed acid (nitric acid 25% ~ 30%, sulfuric acid 55% ~ 58% and water 20% ~ 21%), the temperature rises, adjust the temperature not to exceed 50℃, continue to stir for 1 ~ 2 hours to end the reaction, stand for 6h, the generated nitrobenzene separation, washing, alkali washing, and so on. Chemicalbook crude nitrotoluene contains o-nitrotoluene, p-nitrotoluene and m-nitrotoluene. The crude nitrotoluene is distilled in vacuum, most of the o-nitrotoluene is separated, the residual fraction containing more p-nitrotoluene is separated by vacuum distillation, and the p-nitrotoluene is obtained by cooling and crystallization, and the meta-nitrobenzene is obtained by distillation after accumulation in the mother liquor during the separation of the para.
